April opportunities for young artists
Our monthly round up of interesting opportunities to dive into is here. There are a couple right in front of us, so get busy at the start of the week, if you’re interested.

Danscentrum Väst’s summer residence
Application deadline: 18 April
Danscentrum Väst’s summer residence takes place for the sixth year in a row during weeks 25-32. Application is open to members of Danscentrum Väst, giving artists an opportunity to apply for free access to studios in Gothenburg and the opportunity to apply for three residences with special criteria.
New for this year is that successful applicants will be offered an artistic conversation partner who follows their artistic process to reflect on and brainstorm ideas together. The conversation partner follows the artistic process throughout the residency.
Konstnärsnämnden’s International exchange and travel grants
Next application deadline: 19 April
The purpose of the Swedish Arts Council's contribution to international exchange and travel grants is to support artists' opportunities to create, develop and deepen contacts abroad.
In dance and circus, approximately two million kronor is distributed for international exchange and travel grants per year, with amounts that usually vary between 5,000 and 40,000 kronor. Grants can be applied for on an ongoing basis and distributed four times a year - the next deadline is on 19 April.
Dansalliansen’s Career Planning for young dancers
Stockholm - 20 & 22 April (two half days)
Malmö - 29 April (full day)
Gothenburg - 5 May (full day)
DA ung - Dansalliansen’s initiative for newly graduated dancers. A wide range of different initiatives will be offered during 2022-2023 specifically to strengthen the target group.
During a professional life, our thoughts often go in different directions. What do I want to do? What can I contribute? What motivates me? How can I find an environment where I can be my best self and thrive?
Dansalliansen offers a workshop that gives space to focus on yourself, your unique personality, your driving forces and what motivates you. We exchange theory sessions on characteristics and motivation with room for reflection and discussion. During the day, you will bring with you concrete tools that you can use in your future career - wherever it will take you.
